Nutritious baked oatmeal for a good sleep

Going to bed with an empty or overfilled stomach doesn’t guarantee a good night of sleep, quite the opposite. This recipe is a perfect solution for a late night meal, which provides a great nutritional value, tastes wonderfully calming and will put you gently to sleep. Oats are among the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat. They’re packed with important vitamins, minerals, antioxidant plant compounds and beta-glucan which is responsible for increased growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract.

Ingredients:

  • 85g oats 
  • 80g low-fat Greek yoghurt
  • 300 ml milk
  • 40g blueberries
  • 30g almond flakes
  • 1 large Banana
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Mash the banana using fork or blender until almost smooth.

Combine with the oats, yoghurt, blueberries and almond flakes. Add baking powder and cinnamon into the mixture and stir well.

Pour over the milk and continue stirring until well combined.

Transfer the mixture to baking dish.

Put in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes.

Serve either on its own or with some yoghurt and extra almond flakes on top.
